Pokémon Essentials is a game project made in RPG Maker XP that lets people make Pokémon-style games. It was created by Poccil, who based it on Flameguru's Pokémon Starter Kit. As of 10th July 2011, it is managed and updated by Maruno.
After quite some time, Pokémon Essentials v17 is now available to download!
The focus was on quality of life improvements, small and large changes that make playing the game a bit nicer. To that end, we now have the Ready Menu, to which you can register multiple items at once (including non-Key Items like Repel and Escape Rope) for quick access; support for AZERTY and QWERTZ keyboard layouts and a few changes to keyboard commands; improvements to various Debug features; the addition of the "pokemonforms.txt" PBS file; and better error messages.
Naturally, there have been other additions and changes too, both in the name of quality of life and for other reasons. The new battle transition animations, for example, were added because they look pretty. Unlockable Pokémon storage wallpapers are fun. Bug fixes are necessary.
I hope the wait wasn't too long for you. Have fun!
